Some pieces begin with a stone, mineral, or geological pattern that catches my attention. Stone Stories documents the path from the original inspiration through experimentation and into the finished piece—including the source material, process, and what the idea became.
BUMBLEBEE JASPER

Inspired by the bold yellow, orange, black, and cream patterning of Bumblebee Jasper, this piece was an experiment in translating the stone's high-contrast color and irregular banding into a cast form. The goal wasn't to copy the stone exactly, but to capture the same visual energy and movement.
PERIDOT

THE INTERPRETATION
Inspired by the vivid yellow-green color and translucent depth of peridot, this piece explores those tones through layered greens, lighter mineral-like areas, and subtle shimmer. Rather than recreating the stone literally, I wanted to translate its luminous color and natural variation into a cast surface with its own movement and character.
SNAKESKIN AGATE

The unusual scale-like surface of Snakeskin Agate caught my attention. Its irregular cellular pattern feels almost organic—part stone, part reptile skin. I wanted to explore that texture without trying to reproduce the mineral literally.
